Below is what I wrote for all the books in the series. But the end... I was still crying in this one and a few times said that Ms Larsen had a mean streak in her the way the story played out. Yes you could figure out how it would end, but getting there took a lot of tissues on my part (but know when things are suppose to be tearjerker movies and books, the more tissues, the better I think of it, the last two books went through a lot of them).I saw Ms. Larsen's first book Family Magic on BookBub.com and thought it sounded interesting, a which demon gal, different. That hooked me to buy the first story in the 20 book series. The writing and characters kept me hooked through the remaining 19 books. I rarely will buy Ebooks when they're $5.99 ... after Family Magic I didn't blink, just bought the next one and downloaded. I just had to see what was going to happen next. I really got invested in the story line, wanting to know what twists and turns would happen next. I don't know how many times I burst out laughing or cried my eyes out as the story unfolded (make sure you have a box of tissues for the last couple books you'll need them), or how often I didn't want to put the book down (but had to because my lunch hour was over) The characters were believable ... some you fell in love with, others you loved to hate. Anything I write about the story will give away what happens, but so you have to read them and see what happened. You won't be sorry you picked them up. I just wish there was more after book story, but there are more in the Hayle Coven universe. I read the books one after another, so this is the same review for all of them.
I'm 50 and enjoy young adult books because the lack of sex scenes in them You get to know the characters more in them. Although Syd does have sex in some of them, there is no description of it, just mentioned that she did have it and maybe waking up with her boyfriend. My niece is 14 and I'd give them to her to read.

No one includes a better mix of action, adventure, romance, and humor in one story than Patti Larsen and this installment of the Hayle Coven Novels is no different. I love Larsen's writing and characters and how easy it is to become immersed in the world(s) of her imagination. I not only recommend this book and series but anything written by her.
Sob. Tears streaming down my face. It's over. It's really over. It's so hard to write a review when you don't want to give any of the final goodies away. Well worth the long wait for book 20 (ok, ok it wasn't THAT long but Patti DID make us wait) and couldn't have been any better. A couple things I had a feeling about and a couple took my by complete surprise. Syd's journey has been full of ups and downs. We have watched her go from a surly teenage girl wanting nothing to do with magic to a more mature than most 22 year old Coven Leader. We have been there for her first love and her first heartbreak. We have seen the highs and the lows. We have even been there laughing along with her or wanting to shake some sense into her. It's been a wonderful run Syd and Co. and has been worth every single page. Patti, thank you. Thank you for bringing this series into our hearts and sharing with us. We love you! I look forward to the spin offs Patti has planned, especially about Meems. So for the last time, if you have NOT gotten into the Hayle Coven Novels, DO IT! What are you waiting for? Get your copy of FAMILY MAGIC and dive right in. You will fall in love and will not be disappointed!!
This will be my first review ever but loved this series so much, I just had to give this series as a whole a 5 star rating. From the very first book to the last book #20, ( yes, even my husband was laughing at how many books there was to this series and seriously wishing it would end already so he could get some attention -sadly for him I bought them all one right after another. I was so addicted, never wanted it to end).
This series had everything from magical fantasy worlds and an adventure at every turn that never repeated its self but made every story line more in-depth into their world. Romance, intrigue and the supernatural, this book had all of it and kept me interested throughout. Fantastic!!
The final book in my favorite series ever! Such a terrific ending to the story, with all of the storylines tied up perfectly! I already miss her!
Laughed and cried and triumphed my way through all 20 novels!!! Most amazing series ever!!! Read these 20 in less than two weeks......sigh, so engrossed in Syd's life journey that I hated to put my kindle down. Didn't want to see it end, but knew it was coming. This series will take you further into the paranormal realm than you could imagine. Meet beings from every world imaginable, and yet they all feel like family. The villains evolve, some are worth saving while others make you want to step in and annihilate them yourself. Amazingly written, flowing faultlessly to a perfect ending. A MUST READ IF YOU LOVE THE PARANORMAL. AWESOME SERIES!!!!
What can I say about such a captivating series except that I am sorry to see it end. I have watched Syd grow from a rebellious young teenager in Book 1 to an amazing woman who would do whatever it takes to protect the people she loves regardless of the consequences. It takes a wonderful storyteller to keep her readers interested and 20 books later, we have come to the end and what a finale it was. Not only was Syd a great character but all of the minor characters like Allison, Sebastion and Meems etc were well fleshed out and their story was told though some may need future books to ensnare us into following their journey.
I won't say that I was surprised by the ending as I kind of thought Syd was entitled to her HEA considering what she had to go through to get it and while some of the story seemed a little too contrived in places it was never boring and if you are a romantic at heart, you will be pleased. The author tied up all the loose threads quite nicely and there were a few twists and plenty of action as usual to keep you turning the pages. It is like saying goodbye to an old friend, well done Patti and keep those books coming.
